Webcasts on Financial Planning, M&As

To learn more about using data to support your planning process and ways to approach, develop, and achieve successful mergers and acquisitions, consider viewing these webcasts.

Quantitatively supported decision making. In these challenging times, intentionally aligning and coordinating your planning, resource allocation, and assessment efforts is essential. Designing and developing an integrated approach to planning, supported by well-honed analytical processes, is the foundation for good decision making and institutional success.

In the webcast Planning With Purpose: How to Design a Quantitatively Supported Planning Regimen, the presenters describe the critical elements needed to achieve such alignment and coordination. They also outline the technological requirements needed to actualize and integrate budgeting and forecasting in support of the planning effort.

This webcast includes concrete examples, such as a case study in which Wofford College, Spartanburg, S.C., used financial modeling intelligence to analyze alternative operational and capital initiatives as part of its integrated planning process. Tune in to learn how to link planning with resource allocation and assessment to improve outcomes; use financial modeling intelligence to guide planning efforts and influence resource allocation decisions; and investigate ways to apply financial modeling to support planning at your institution.

Mergers and acquisitions. Higher education institutions are facing challenges greater than ever before, with heightened competition for students and funding, as well as a changing workforce landscape. Successful mergers and acquisitions (M&As) may provide institutions with a competitive edge, allowing them to scale operations, expand program offerings, broaden geographic reach, and improve their financial health. But how does an institution begin to consider a merger, arrive at a decision, and successfully execute an agreement?

NACUBO is partnering with EY-Parthenon to present a four-part webcast series that will explore the most important elements of M&As in higher education. Each webcast will delve into various stages of the M&A life cycle, from strategy and opportunity evaluation, to transaction exploration and execution strategies, to post-merger integration. Hear firsthand experiences from those who have navigated each stage and can now offer valuable insights into best practices, common pitfalls, and lessons learned.
